Where – Enmore Theatre, Newtown, Sydney

When – Wednesday 30th July 2014, 7:30pm

Who – The 1975

Why – To meet my future husband (Matt Healy aka the lead singer of The 1975)

Before I begin, I fangirl quite hard about a lot of bands, thus am expecting quite a few of these ‘future husbands.’ But just incase for some estranged reason one of these promising relationships don’t work out, it’s always good to have a few more as back ups. But seriously, I swear, I’m not totally insane.

This little obsession began last year when I was living in the UK, hearing their catchy song

C H O C O L A T E

After quickly Shazam-ing it and playing it on repeat a few times, I quickly came to learn that the song wasn’t indeed about chocolate, but weed. Not everyday you hear songs about that playing in shopping centres.

Then came my discovery of their steamy song

S E X

And this was just about when I fell in love with him. The lovely Matt Healy.

Why you ask?

The saying is true. Every girl likes a bad boy. And he definitely comes across as very very bad. Maybe it’s the ripped skinny jeans. Maybe it’s the alternative mop of hair he flings around. Maybe it’s the dorky cute dance moves. Maybe it’s the cigarette and bottle of wine in hand on stage. It’s definitely the hot English accent. And definitely his soulful voice.

The combination = Matt Healy = babe = love

They played so exquisitely live!

The bass vibrated my heart in my ribcage. The drums pumped blood through my limbs. My mind was floating along the synths. My body danced to the sexy saxophone. And my soul melted to his smooth voice.

So thank you darling! Still waiting for my ring…
