July is by far the best month of the year. Not only is it Winter which means jeans, jumpers, beanies and trackies, but it’s also my birthday month. And for those of you who partied with me at some point this month, you would know that those beers indeed hit a little harder now. But seriously, this month has been amazing! I love when it comes to writing these posts because it reminds me to reflect on all of the things I have done and all of the people I have shared special memories with. Chuck a birthday in there and I am gratitude overload! Honestly, life is good!
🎉 My birthday
24! Holy moly look out world! I recently reflected on all the things I had learnt across my time on earth, and I’m feeling so excited, happy and beyond stoked for everything coming my way! My birthday was well and truly magical and I’m so grateful for my friends and family who made it extra special! From a glorious cheese and wine spread, to espresso martinis, drunk kebabs, coffees galore, a road trip down south, an epic BBQ, a few too many beers and beautiful people to share it with, it was the best way to celebrate one more year of wisdom and silliness! 🍺Gigs
This month I went to some pretty epic gigs (let’s be honest – is there a month where I don’t?!). I went to Big Top feat. The Wombats & Skegss (there were more artists but we missed them). It was 16-year-old Adelaide’s dream come true! Dancing the night away to the Wombats with your best friends in the world! I also went to Alex the Astronaut and I was super impressed with her ability to captivate a room. Plus I was ticket bitch for my mates band Creatures at Leisure. I’ve known these guys since day one of uni and it’s pretty awesome to watch their journey as musicians. If you haven’t checked them out already… what are you doing? Treat your earbuds!
🍷Work shenanigans
I am so lucky to work with such a great team! Every day I am inspired and challenged more than I would have ever thought. I feel that I’m really learning the importance of working in a positive workplace with people who help build you up and I’m super grateful to be apart of a team that does just that!

Hatchie. I have been listening to Hatchie ON REPEAT! Her music is retro-inspired and it makes me feel like I’m walking through an 80’s rom-com starring Drew Barrymore! I seriously love the vibes of her voice and would totally recommend listening to with flared pants and a denim jacket.
Mallrat. Woo some more awesome tunes coming your way. This music is super chill with some good ol road trip with your bestie vibes!
🎥 Flicks
Nanette. Wow. I really am quite speechless and am still processing the power behind Hannah Gadsby’s ‘comedy’ performance available for all to watch on Netflix (get onto it ASAP). I started off laughing which turned into crying which turned into a genuine human connection. There’s some lesbian content sprinkled in there which is pretty enlightening, but all women should watch this. And better yet, all men should watch and learn from this. It’s uncomfortable, it’s confronting and a bit uneasy. But you know what else can be all of these things at once? Being a woman! Thanks Dylan for recommending this to me because it’s not my usual type of show (comedy) but damn it’s a must watch for all of us living in this crazy confusing world.

The DREAMers: How the Undocumented Youth Movement Transformed the Immigrant Rights Debate by Walter J. Nicholls
I read this book for my thesis but I would recommend it to anyone remotely interested in immigration, human rights and activism. It’s well researched and well written making it easy to understand for those of you unfamiliar with the DREAMers. This book is incredibly timely and I’m glad to have got my hands on it! If you’d like to borrow it, let me know!

I’ve been ridiculously happy lately (if you couldn’t tell). I’ve never felt so sure of myself and the people I love (which is crazy because I usually doubt myself and second guess relationships). Maybe it’s because I’m 24 now and have reached a new level of maturity, but I don’t have time for anyone or anything that doesn’t help me shine and be the best I can be. Life is too damn short. Sure – life isn’t always smooth sailing, but it’s nothing you can’t simply talk about, take a deep breath, let it go and move on from. You’ve got this, you’re freakin irresistible, don’t let anyone make you feel like you’re not.
Well damn, what a month. Complete with a beautiful full moon/lunar eclipse, I feel sensually connected to the earth and the people around me. I’m excited to move into August with the same attitude, fire and love.
